Don’t Be Complacent – IMD Advises The Church

The International Missions Director (IMD) of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Gyesi-Addo, has advised the Church not to be complacent with the gains made over the years as a global church but get desperate to reach the ends of the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

According to him, although the Church is currently in about 100 countries, a lot of work and efforts need to be done to reach out to the unreached nations in the Middle East, the Gulf regions, North America and other places.

He observed that, the centrifugal approach to missions should be the Church’s focus, with each member being conscientized to carry out the mission’s mandate with the haste it requires.

Speaking on the topic, “Into the World We Go” on the 3rd day of the 2019 Global Ministers’ Conference underway at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa Fetteh, the IMD intimated that every member of the Church should be equipped to carry out the work of evangelism to enter into the open doors, irrespective of the supposed and perceived limitations.

“The only criteria required of us is to meet Christ. Your experience with the Messiah is all that is needed to go into the world”.

“We need to be desperate and do everything within our power to overcome all hindrances associated with our missionary efforts,” he said, and further added that, “A month without any souls being won should be a matter of concern to the Church.”

Apostle Gyesi-Addo further explained that the unfinished tasks of missions work should be carried out with the needed passion and desperation to rescue the lost. He stated: “We have solid foundations laid for missions and the missiological philosophy underpinning our activities have been well set out, yet the task is not finished; let us arise and do more.”

He also explained that the church cannot afford to fail God, with the progress that has been made so far, to the detriment of the unreached nations, saying, “Time is running out and we must move. We need all hands on deck.”

The IMD further explained that missions work required the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders in the church and, therefore, called on missionaries to look beyond the borders and frontiers of their countries.

Using the approach of the Church of Pentecost in Ghana to reach out to other nations, he charged the ministers to move beyond their borders. He assured them of the power of the Holy Spirit to equip and guide them in their efforts to possess the nations.

He argued that in the midst of the open doors, there were draconian political systems, false religions which are all targeted against missionary efforts. He, therefore, encouraged the church to take her prayer life very seriously in fulfilling its missiological mandate.
