South Area holds Apostolisation 2019

In accordance with the church’s activities for the year 2019, the German south area of the Church of Pentecost has held its annual officers and leaders retreat dubbed ”Apostolisation” on Saturday 9th March, 2019 at the Frankfurt Assembly Auditorium.

As part of the aim of the program, this year’s apostolisation exposed officers and leaders of the church to the vision of the church dubbed ”Vision 2023” and also the theme for the year ”I will build my church”. The vision 2023 seeks to equip the Church to Transform Every Sphere of Society with Values and Principles of the Kingdom of God.

Speaking at the programme, the Area Head of Koforidua who doubles as an International Executive Council member, Apostle Samuel Osei Asante thanked God for how far he has brought the Church, recounting some events of the church from the time of its founder, Rev James McKeown till now.

Using the election held in May 2018 as an example, Apostle S.O. Asante said, the Holy Spirit has always been the backbone of the Church and has never left his Church. He noted that, this was evident during the election of the Chairman and some other executive council members. He said, the speech of the Chairman when he was elected clearly showed that God had already prepared him for his work.

He went ahead to say that, though the speech was brief, it was powerful and challenging, hence the Vision 2023. He also used the opportunity to distinguish between Vision 2023 and the theme for the year 2019. ”The vision 2023 is the overall focus of the Church from 2018 to 2023, while the theme for the year is a sub theme drawn from the main focus, which will be used only for this year. And so, the theme will change at the end of 2019, but the vision will not change”, he emphasised.

The former New Tafo Area head also encouraged the officers and leaders to have their concentration on the theme for the year as well as the vision in their sermons and teachings, since they are in charge at the local level. He therefore admonished them to educate their members on the vision as well as the theme for the year 2019 and discouraged themes by the various locals which do not conform to the theme and vision of the church.

Apostle S.O. Asante used the opportunity to commend the National head and the entire leadership of the church for their tireless efforts and for having youth services held in the German language. This he said was his greatest joy and a step in the right direction.

In attendance were Apostle Ebenezer Nii Odai Quaye, the National Head, Mrs Rosaline Quaye, wife of the National Head, Pastor, Michael Asante of Jericho district in Ashaiman area in Ghana, Pastor Osahene Amankwaa Boateng, the area head, all ministers and wives in the area, the National deacon as well as officers, ministry leaders and other workers in the area.
