The Church of Pentecost Germany holds maiden virtual National Youth Conference.
The outbreak of the Corona Virus pandemic, also known as COVID-19 has brought about several technological and innovative ideas as many organizations including the Church have resorted to various media outlets and online platforms in their quest to meet the spiritual needs of their members.
The Church has become one of the hardest-hit institutions since the outbreak of the pandemic due to the imposition of restrictions as well as the ban on public gatherings which led to the closure of churches across the globe including Germany.
Due to these restrictions, the leadership of the Church of Pentecost in Germany led by Apostle Ebenezer Nii Odai Quaye (National Head) looked out for possible ways to organize the annual National Youth Conference which is a major activity on the Church’s calendar.
Upon several deliberations with the National Executive Council Members, a decision was made to organize the 2020 National Youth Conference virtually. Though this decision seemed difficult, the national head encouraged the church and assured them of his support at all times.
After conducting several online services in the wake of the pandemic including the Easter Convention, the decision to hold the National Youth Conference virtually became realistic.
After several preparations, the opening session of the Conference was held on Thursday 23rd July, 2020 at exactly 16:00 hrs via zoom as well as the church’s various social media handles such as Facebook, and YouTube. It was a dream come through as members of the youth ministry gathered online several minutes before the service began in an anticipation of the history to be made.
During the annual Youth Conferences, participants from all the districts in Germany as well as members from some external branches of the Church gather at Sauerland Hotel in Willingen to pray together, and share fellowship.
The theme for this year’s Conference was, “A Glorious Generation for Christ” with ministrations from Apostle Ebenezer Nii Odai Quaye, the National Head, Pastor Benjamin Mensah, the National Youth Pastor, Overseer George Gyawu of PIWC Hamburg, Overseer Kingsley Dompreh Yeboah of Mannheim District, Elder Joseph Korang, Berlin District, Elder Rhema Quaye, Dusseldorf District, Sister Daniela Dwommoh of Dortmund District among others.
As usual, this year’s Conference was graced with song ministrations and choreography from all the districts in the nation. Prayer sessions and seminars were also held as well as the Inauguration of PENSA Germany. The conference was held from 23rd – 26th July, 2020.
In all, the year 2020 will forever be remembered as a very challenging year globally due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its associated effects. But for the Youth Ministry and The Church of Pentecost in Germany, it will go down in history as the year when the maiden National Youth Conference was successfully held.
