Reflect Christ – Chairman Charges Christians

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has admonished Christians to let their lives reflect the nature of Christ as the Church continues to live its mandate to possess the nations.

“The whole of our life is worship and we should live as such. There is no dichotomy between the sacred and the secular. Everything is worship and what is important is our interpretation and understanding of our worship,” he stated.

Speaking on the theme, “The Purpose of the Church” at the 2019 Global Ministers’ Conference, Apostle Nyamekye stated that the Church has a dual purpose. “On the one hand, we are called out of the world to belong to God as priests. On the other hand, we are sent back into the world to witness and to serve as kings,” he said.

The Chairman, therefore, challenged Christians to seek to make worship a lifestyle since that would bear true testimony of God wherever they live to transform and impact the nations.

Apostle Nyamekye also challenged Christian leaders to move out from the comfort of the churches and go out to evangelize and win souls for the Church of God.

“Don’t hide in your church. Church is half time. Real time is on the field. As a pastor, go as a coach to equip the saints for the work of the nations. God does not think Church. God thinks nations,” the Chairman emphasised.

Apostle Nyamekye further called on the church to uphold high standards, inculcate true moral values that would determine the nations’ culture, saying, “We must be concerned! Our values and standards of the Kingdom of God should control the nations and permeate the whole fabric of our national culture.”

Dwelling on Jesus’ teachings about the Church in Matthew 5:13-16, Chairman Nyamekye said Christians are supposed to be different from the world and yet should not be socially segregated from the world.  He, therefore, charged Christians to be agents of influence and transform the society.
